Alimentari Returns-In a Familiar Beloved Space
Rendering of the grocery and deli areas
We’re excited to share an early look at our latest work for Alimentari, which is opening a new location in the former Pig in a Fur Coat space.
The project reimagines the historic building through the lens of a classic Italian-inspired deli and grocery—drawing from the character of vintage Midwestern Italian markets while honoring the industrial bones of the original 1901 structure. Exposed materials, honest textures, and a sense of everyday utility guide the design approach, balancing nostalgia with a contemporary dining and retail experience.

The rendering shown here captures a moment within the space: the grocery area in the foreground, with the deli visible beyond. At this stage, the gray palette is intentionally restrained—a placeholder as we continue to explore color, warmth, and materiality that will ultimately bring the space to life.
As the design evolves, we’re looking forward to sharing more from this project and watching a familiar Madison address take on a new chapter. Stay tuned.
